Health Assistant Secretary Eric Tayag, during a press conference on the 9th Conference of the Asian Network of Major Cities (ANMC21) on Countermeasures to Combat Infectious Diseases in Asia held in Manila recently, explains that a network between neighboring countries is urgent to give warning on diseases endemic to a region or city. He added that the goal of the meeting is to form a network of medical experts to have a data bank of diseases and how to better respond to epidemics. Tayag added that the said meeting will also focus on diseases like dengue, HIV, and multi-drug resistant tuberculosis.
