Functions:
- To develop and evaluate programs, policies, plans and projects on disease prevention and control.
- To provide technical assistance and capability-building services on matters pertaining to disease prevention and control to the center for health development, local government units and other partners.
- To provide technically sound advice to the Secretary of Health and other stakeholders
- To ensure adequate provision of strategic resource requirements of programs addressing important public health problems
