Functions:

1. To develop and evaluate programs, policies, plans and projects on disease prevention and control.
2. To provide technical assistance and capability-building services on matters pertaining to disease prevention and control to the center for health development, local government units and other partners.
3. To provide technically sound advice to the Secretary of Health and other stakeholders
4. To ensure adequate provision of strategic resource requirements of programs addressing important public health problems
