In-house Databases

Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC)
Provides access to DOH Central library collection. The online catalog indicates if the library owns a particular item and gives information for locating the item. It also provides an easy way to determine what materials are available in a particular subject area. Please refer to the User's Guide for information on how to use the OPAC.
                       
Health News Clippings
Health-related news articles taken from leading newspapers of the country. Searchable by date or keyword/s.

Serial Holdings
A list of journals, magazine and other periodicals available in the DOH Central Library. The information includes the title of the journal, year, volume and issue number. 

National Databases

Herdin
This database contains more than 23,000 records of bibliographic citations with abstracts and few full-text of published and unpublished local materials on health and health related topics.

MIMS
Searchable database that contains drug information such as drug interaction, images, latest drug updates, diagnoses, patient education on drugs and medical events.

Philippine e-Lib
A collaboration of the National Library of the Philippines(NLP), University of the Philippines (UP), Department of Science and Technology(DOST), Department of Agriculture (DA), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).Available resources include: Union Catalog of the 5 partners; Digitized Filipiniana materials including theses and dissertations; special collection/researches of the 5 partners; online resources/subscription to electronic database.

Union List of Health Periodicals
This database contains list of medical and health periodical holdings of the leading medical and health libraries in the country.

International Databases

The database contains nearly 300,000 reocrds, full text for selected titles and searchable cited references for more than 200 titles as well.

Comprehensive and credible health information resource containing comprehensive and bias information in patient-friendly language from trusted sources on over 1,500 health topics, 70 focus health centers, 450 medical illustrations, more than 11,000 drugs and medications, and daily health news.

Medline
Will direct you to information to help you answer health questions. MEDLINEplus brings together, by health topic, authoritative information from NLM (U.S. National Library of Medicine), the National Institute of Health (NIH) other government, nonprofit and other health-related organizations. Pre-formulated MEDLINE searches are included in MEDLINEplus and give easy access to the medical research literature. It also provides you with a database of full-text drug information and an illustrated medical encyclopedia.

PubMedCentral
A free digital archive of biomedcial and life sciences journal literature at the US National Institutes for Health (NIH), developed and managed by NIH's National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) in the National Library of Medicine (NLM).

WHOLIS
WHOLIS is the World Health Organization library database available on the web. WHOLIS indexes all WHO publications from 1948 onwards and articles from WHO-produced journals and technical documents from 1985 to the present. An on-site card catalogue provides access to the pre-1986 technical documents. It contains bibliographic information with subject headings and, for some records, abstracts. For some records, full text links are available. An online tutorial for guidance in using WHOLIS is available.
