ONA VOWS SUPPORT TO SURIGAO DEL NORTE BHWs

Health Secretary Enrique T. Ona, during the Provincial Barangay Health Workers Convention in Surigao del Norte, urges all health stakeholders to improve health facilities in the region in order to improve the health status of the people. Ona recognizes the role of barangay health workers (BHWs), together with the Department of Health’s community health teams and midwives as frontline health soldiers of the country. The health chief vows to fully support the flight of BHWs in the country and encourage their enrollment to Philhealth.(1 December 2011)
