GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND STRUCTURE

  •   Management of official activities of the Secretary of Health and resources of the Office of the Secretary.
  •   Promotion of positive image of the DOH in media
  •   Implementation and management of public assistance programs
  •   Management of records and documents
  •   Human resource management and development
  •   Appraisal of performance and economical and efficient use of resources of the different offices under the DOH

 

COMPONENT UNITS

A.  Public Assistance Unit

Specific functions:

  • Manage the public assistance program
  • Collaboration/networking with appropriate sector/agencies/institutions/offices
  • Monitors and evaluates assistance given to clients

 

B.  Media Relations Unit

Specific functions:

  • Manages the promotion of a positive image of the SOH/DOH in media
  • Develop and sustain feedback mechanism between media and DOH

 

C.  Administrative Support Unit   

Specific functions:

  • Manages the financial system of the Office of the Secretary
  • Manages logistics, vehicles, and facilities for the Office of the Secretary.

 

D. Internal Audit

General functions:

  •    Examination of control procedures of the agency to determine their adequacy and propriety
  •    Verification of the reliability and integrity of information examined
  •    Review compliance with existing policies, regulations, plans and procedures
  •    Review means of safeguarding assets and verify its existence
  •    Appraisal of performance and economical and efficient use of resources
  •    Review of established objectives and goals for operations or programs
  •    Render audit/fact finding report and recommendations.
