PROPOSED GENERAL FUNCTION

  • Acts as the COBAC Secretariat as stipulated in RA No. 9184 and its Implementing Rules and Regulation – Part A.

  • Formulates plans, policies, standards and guidelines related to procurement management of the Department of Health.

  • Procures goods, services, consulting, civil works, supplies, materials and services to support the logistical requirements of the DOH.

  • Ensures that all offices/units/CHDs and retained hospitals adhere to procurement processes and procedures as prescribed by Republic Act No. 9184 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR-A).

  • Provides technical assistance and expert services to CHDs, retained hospitals, LGUs and other government and private agencies on matters relating to procurement.

  • Advises the Secretary of Health on matters pertaining to the procurement of goods and other related services, civil works, and consulting services.
